We have a dock!
Through this week's insane heat wave, my husband drove 8 hours to the cottage (normally takes 4.5 - took 8 for all sorts of reasons), with our 3 year old son, spent the next day putting our dock together and testing it out on his parent's lake (with the help of his dad), and then today drove over to our property's lake and put the dock in!! Yeah! I guess they had a heck of a time getting the trailer with the dock out of the lane way at my in-laws cottage (it's a bit of a hill) so one person was on the atv pulling the snowmobile trailer and 3 others pushed the trailer. So glad I wasn't there!
And here it is (the wonders of an iPhone).
This dock will be just perfect for us while we are transporting stuff and working away. Eventually we hope to put in a dock that lifts for the winter, but for now - it's perfect!

That's a great first step toward improving your lot! Looks great! I was about to ask if you have to pull it out in the winter... but you answered that question. My dad's place in the UP (on a bay off Lake Huron) has to come out each winter due to freezing.
