It took a while- but we finally made it over to our lot to do a little bit of work last week. Initially our plans were to tow over our dock and the floatation barrels and have Matt's brother tow over the boat so we could get the dock pieces across the lake, but unfortunately his brother wasn't able to make it. So, Matt, Alex and I went over ourselves with the intent to do a little clearing and to see how the path we cleared last year held up. All in all it was a pretty successful trip (considering our son is just 3... and I'm not exactly an axe wheeling kind of lady).
We cleared out about 5 trees where we want the dock to go and then cut the trees up and piled all the brush. We seriously are in need of renting a chipper and getting a fire pit going (if not a full fledged pit, at least our fire bowl). We can see the progress.. but I don't think anyone else would. You could tell there was actually a change because you could feel a breeze. After the work was done, we took a nice boat tour around the islands. It will be a little getting used to being on a much larger body of water - but it will be really worth it.

That was our only visit to the property while on vacation last week. But this coming week Matt is going back up with his dad and the dock is going in! (well, we hope)
