We just spent 9 days at the cottage. I honestly don't think I have ever been there that long before! It was really nice to get away for a decent stint of time. The weather - well... not so great - some cooler rainy days, but it really isn't fair to complain after this past winter.
We visited our property three times - once to take pieces of wood and supplies to extend our dock over, once to build the extended dock, and once for Matt to finish the dock and to do some fishing.
The one thing we we discovered is that the property is now a sea of poplar seedlings! Boating up all you could see was a field of lime green. So strange after not having that for the last 3 years. But Matt had the weed whacker there and did a good trim job.
One morning we went into Kearney to try out a new restaurant - the
Iron Skillet, that is supposed to be amazing, but sadly they were closed that morning, so we went to
Edgewater Park Lodge instead. It was so good! Will be back there for sure.
We saw so many animals - a bear (!!), 3 deer, lots of turkeys, grouse, and lots of chipmunks. I was shocked by the bear - especially since he was on the road.

It looks like a wonderful vacation... even with the less than stellar weather!
